This Kono table is made out of white Carrara marble base that is 70cm high and of an oxidized copper cone that is 70cm high and a glass top of 120 cm resting on the copper cone and the rectangular Carrara structures.
The table was designed in July 1979 at a meeting between Massimo Vignelli and Casigliani in his New York City studio. It is said that upon his return to Italy the following week, Casigliani had the table produced and that Massimo Vignelli had approved the first prototype and photographs in less than two weeks after the initial draft.
