Design Miami/Basel 2017

Casati’s inaugural exhibit at design Miami/2017 will feature the work of Studio BBPR. The collaborative studio was an interdisciplinary group of architects, planners and designers founded in 1932 with an acronymic name of the four partners: Gian Luigi Banfi, Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressutti, and Ernesto Nathan Rogers.

The exhibition will include a collection of lighting and furniture from two private commissions in Milan. The setting of the two residences was eclectic in nature. Both commissions featured a combination of antiques coexisting with custom designs. The table designed by Studio BBPR in c. 1951, features a solid oak base, veneered oak top that is lined in a green fabric. it encapsulates the essence of the minimal design language of the Studio BBPR.

In honor of that spirit, Casati Gallery will present, in a booth designed by French designer Philippe Nigro, a rare seating by Carlo Bugatti, and Vittorio Viganò, Carlo Mllino, lighting by Arteluce Gino Sarfatti, with ceramics by Fausto Melotti, Ettore Sottsass, and Renato Bassoli. In addition, our contemporary program will feature new designs by Philippe Nigro, jonathan nesci and tapestries by Laura Letinsky.
