Max Ingrand Lighting

Max Ingrand was a master glassworker and lighting designer who became the artistic director of the prestigious Fontana Arte light manufacturing company. Although his early work involved designing some windows for Notre-Dame de Paris and for the Saint-Pierre d’Yvetot Church in Normandy, by the mid 1950s, he had turned his attention to designing mirrors, lamps, and chandeliers. His designs became highly successful among Europeans seeking a new contemporary aesthetic and impeccable craftsmanship. Casati Gallery continuously updates its collection of Max Ingrand lighting designs made between the mid 1950s and the late 1960s, a period of widely different expectations of what it meant to be modern.
