Clay Mahn (born in Missoula, MT in 1988) is an American contemporary artist that lives and works in Chicago, IL. He received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s department of Painting and Drawing in the spring of 2017. His practice engages elements of language, architecture, and gesture through a precarious and playful use of motifs and relationships. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Bad Habits’ at FalseFront in Portland, OR and ‘Autoportrait’ at Paris London Hong Kong in Chicago, IL. Mahn received his BFA from The University of Montana’s College of Visual and Performing Arts in 2012.
